Applications for the inaugural $1,000 award are open until January 15, 2027. After the deadline, the recipient is selected under the official rules, their enrollment is verified with their school, and the announcement is published on this page.
Apply before the deadlineWhat gets published — and what doesn't
Winner announcements here include only what the recipient consents to in writing — typically a first name and school, optionally a photo and a short quote. A recipient can decline publicity entirely and still receive the full award. What we will always publish, every cycle:
- That the award for the cycle was made, and when
- Confirmation that enrollment was verified before payment
That way the program's record stays verifiable even when a recipient prefers privacy.
